Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8397 — By Allah, no surah of the Qur'an was

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: «وَاللهِ مَا نَزَلَتْ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ سُورَةٌ إِلَّا أَنَا أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ أُنْزِلَتْ، وَلَا أُنْزِلَتْ مِنْهُ آيَةٌ إِلَّا أَنَا أَعْلَمُ فِيمَا أُنْزِلَتْ، وَلَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا أَعْلَمُ بِكِتَابِ اللهِ مِنِّي تَبْلُغُهُ الْإِبِلُ لَأَتَيْتُهُ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah (bin Mas'ud) (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "By Allah, no surah of the Qur'an was revealed except that I know where it was revealed, and no verse of it was revealed except that I know concerning what it was revealed; and if I knew of anyone more knowledgeable than me about the Book of Allah, whom camels could reach, I would go to him."
