حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا ابْنُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَا: ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، قَالَ: كَانَ مِمَّا «عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ لَا آخُذَ عَلَى الْأَذَانِ أَجْرًا»
Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Among the instructions the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me was that I should not take any wage for the call to prayer (adhan).
