حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ مُبَارَكِ بْنِ فَضَالَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ سَرِيعٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ الْمَدْحُ مِنَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَلَا أَحَدٌ أَكْثَرَ مَعَاذِيرَ مِنَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Aswad bin Sari' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No one loves praise more than Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and no one accepts excuses more than Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
