حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: جَاءَ الطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدَّوْسِيُّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ دَوْسًا قَدْ هَلَكَ عَصَتْ، وَأَبَتْ، فَادْعُ اللهَ عَلَيْهِمْ، قَالَ: «اللهُمَّ اهْدِ دَوْسًا، وَائْتِ بِهِمْ»
It is narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Tufayl bin Amr al-Dawsi (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "The tribe of Daws has perished; it has disobeyed and refused. Invoke (Allah) against them." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, guide Daws and bring them."
