Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 818 — Sayyiduna al-Aswad bin Sari' was a poet

Sayyiduna al-Aswad bin Sari' (may Allah be pleased with him) was a poet. He said: "O Prophet of Allah! Shall I not recite to you the praises with which I have praised my Lord?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, your Lord loves praise", or he said: "Nothing is more beloved to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, than praise."
