Sayyiduna Tariq bin Shihab (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: "About what does the Highest Assembly (of angels) dispute?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "About the ranks and the expiations." The ranks are: feeding others, spreading the greeting of peace, and praying at night while people are asleep. And the expiations are: performing ablution thoroughly in the cold, walking with heavy steps (enduring hardship) to the Friday prayers, and waiting for the next prayer after a prayer.
