Reports al-Dahhak bin Qays (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8105 — the Prophet ﷺ said: When a man comes

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عُمَرَ الضَّرِيرُ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ نَبِيِّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِذَا أَتَى الرَّجُلُ الْقَوْمَ، فَقَالُوا: مَرْحَبًا، فَمَرْحَبًا بِهِ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَى رَبَّهُ، وَإِذَا أَتَى الرَّجُلُ الْقَوْمَ فَقَالُوا: قَحْطًا، فَقَحْطًا لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Dahhak bin Qays (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a man comes to a people and they say: Welcome, then there is welcome for him until the day he meets his Lord; and when a man comes to a people and they say to him 'Qahtan' (an unbefitting reception), then there will be qahtan for him on the Day of Resurrection."
