Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 7997 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: That I

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْقَاضِي، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالَا: ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي طَالِبٍ الضُّبَعِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَأَنْ أَذْكُرَ اللهَ مِنْ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ إِلَى طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ أُكَبِّرُ، وَأُهَلِّلُ، وَأُسَبِّحُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَعْتِقَ أَرْبَعَ رِقَابٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، وَلَأَنْ أَذْكُرَ اللهَ مِنْ بَعْدِ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ إِلَى أَنْ تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أُعْتِقَ كَذَا وَكَذَا مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That I remember Allah from the break of dawn until sunrise, saying takbir, tahlil and tasbih, is dearer to me than freeing four slaves from the descendants of Isma'il (peace be upon him); and that I remember Allah from after the Asr prayer until sunset is dearer to me than freeing such-and-such a number of slaves from the descendants of Isma'il (peace be upon him)."
