Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 7909 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الشِّيرَازِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «خَلَقَ اللهُ الْخَلْقَ، وَقَضَى الْقَضِيَّةَ، وَأَخَذَ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَعَرْشُهُ عَلَى الْمَاءِ، فَأَهَلُ الْجَنَّةِ أَهْلُهَا وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ أَهْلُهَا» . قَالُوا: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، فِيمَ الْأَعْمَالُ؟ قَالَ: «يَعْمَلُ كُلُّ قَوْمٍ لِمَنْزِلَتِهِمْ» ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ: إِذًا نَجْتَهِدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty created the creation and decreed the decree, and took the covenant of the prophets while His Throne was upon the water. So the people of Paradise are those who are its people, and the people of Hell are those who are its people." The Companions said: O Prophet of Allah, then what are deeds for? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every people acts according to its station." At this Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Then we shall strive hard, O Messenger of Allah!
