Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 7890 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابَانَ، ثنا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ جَعَلَ اللهُ بَيْنَهُ، وَبَيْنَ النَّارِ خَنْدَقًا كَمَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts one day in the path of Allah, Allah will place between him and the Fire a trench as wide as the distance between the heavens and the earth."
