حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ السَّرَّاجُ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّرْجُمَانِيُّ، ثنا الْهَيَّاجُ بْنُ بِسْطَامٍ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ رُوَيْمٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ عَمِلَ بِالْمَعَاصِي بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْ قَوْمٍ هُوَ مِنْهُمْ لَمْ يَمْنَعُوهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُوا الْمُنْكَرَ، فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُمْ ذِمَّةُ اللهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever commits sins among a people of whom he is one, and they do not stop him from it until they change the evil, then the protection of Allah is removed from them."
