حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زِيَادِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا الْأَيَادِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ زَبْرِيقٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، ثنا عَمِّي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ الْحِمْصِيُّ، قَالُوا: ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ رَجَاءِ بْنِ حَيْوَةَ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ رُوَيْمٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «إِنَّ صَاحِبَ الشِّمَالِ لِيَرْفَعُ الْقَلَمَ سِتَّ سَاعَاتٍ عَنِ الْعَبْدِ الْمُسْلِمِ الْمُخْطِئِ أَوِ الْمُسِيءِ، فَإِنْ نَدِمَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ اللهَ مِنْهَا أَلْقَاهَا، وَإِلَّا كُتِبَتْ وَاحِدَةً»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angel on the left holds back the pen for six hours from the Muslim servant who errs or does wrong; if, during that time, he feels remorse and seeks forgiveness from Allah, he (the angel) discards it (and does not write it), otherwise it is written as one (sin)."
