Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 7613 — One day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) said: One day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to us, and most of his (peace and blessings be upon him) sermon was about the Dajjal. He (peace and blessings be upon him) kept warning us against him and telling us about him until he finished his sermon. Among the things he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us that day was: "Indeed, whenever Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, sent a prophet, he warned his Ummah against him. I am the last of the prophets, and you are the last of the nations, and he will most certainly appear among you. If he appears while I am among you, I will argue on behalf of every Muslim; and if he appears among you after me, then every person must argue on his own behalf, and Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is my successor over every Muslim. He will come out from a pass between Iraq and Syria, spreading corruption to the right and spreading corruption to the left. O servants of Allah, stand firm! For he will begin by saying: 'I am a prophet,' yet there is no prophet after me. Between his eyes will be written 'Kafir (disbeliever)', which every believer will read. Whoever of you meets him, let him spit in his face and recite the decisive verses of Surah Ashab al-Kahf. He will be given power over one person from the children of Adam; he will kill him and then bring him back to life, and it will go no further than that; he will not be given power over anyone other than him. Part of his trial is that he will have with him a paradise and a hell, yet his hell is in fact paradise and his paradise is in fact hell. Whoever is tested with his hell, let him close his eyes and call on Allah for help, and it will become cool and safe for him, just as the fire became cool and safe for Ibrahim (peace be upon him). His days will be forty days: one day like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, and the rest of the days like your ordinary days. His last days will be like a mirage: a man will reach one gate of the city in the morning, and before he reaches its other gate (the day will be over)." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, how shall we pray in those short days?" He said: "You will estimate (the times) in them just as you estimate them in the long days."
