حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خُلَيْدٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَلَّامٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَنَبِيًّا كَانَ آدَمُ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» . قَالَ: كَمْ كَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ نُوحٍ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ؟ قَالَ: «عَشَرَةُ قُرُونٍ» . قَالَ: كَمْ كَانَ بَيْنَ نُوحٍ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ؟ قَالَ: «عَشَرَةُ قُرُونٍ» . قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كَمْ كَانَتِ الرُّسُلُ؟ قَالَ: «ثَلَاثُ مِائَةٍ وَثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ»
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, was Adam (peace be upon him) a prophet?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." He asked: "How much time was there between him and Nuh and Ibrahim (peace be upon them both)?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ten centuries." He asked: "How much time was there between Nuh and Ibrahim (peace be upon them both)?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ten centuries." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, how many messengers were there?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Three hundred and thirteen."
