حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ: مَا الْإِثْمُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ: «مَا حَاكَ فِي صَدْرِكَ فَدَعْهُ»
قَالَ: فَمَا الْإِيمَانُ؟ قَالَ: «مَنْ سَاءَتْهُ سَيِّئَتُهُ، وَسَرَّتْهُ حَسَنَتُهُ، فَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ»
قَالَ: فَمَا الْإِيمَانُ؟ قَالَ: «مَنْ سَاءَتْهُ سَيِّئَتُهُ، وَسَرَّتْهُ حَسَنَتُهُ، فَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ»
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man said: O Messenger of Allah, what is sin? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever troubles your heart, leave it."
He said: Then what is faith? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is grieved by his evil deed and made happy by his good deed is a believer."
He said: Then what is faith? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is grieved by his evil deed and made happy by his good deed is a believer."
