Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Jibril (peace be upon him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was at Tabuk and said: O Muhammad, attend the funeral of Mu'awiyah bin Mu'awiyah al-Muzani. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out, and Jibril (peace be upon him) descended with seventy thousand angels. He placed his right wing on the mountains and they bowed down, and he placed his left wing on the earth and it bowed down so that Makkah and Madinah could be seen. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Jibril (peace be upon him) and the angels prayed the funeral prayer over him. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished, he said: "O Jibril, by what deed did Mu'awiyah bin Mu'awiyah al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) reach this rank?" Jibril said: By his reciting "Say: He is Allah, the One" (Surah al-Ikhlas), standing, sitting, riding and walking.
