Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "He will be given to drink of purulent water, which he will gulp" [Surah Ibrahim: 17]. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It (the water) will be brought near to him and he will find it repulsive; then when it is brought close to him it will roast his face and the skin of his scalp will fall off, and when he drinks it, it will cut his intestines to pieces until they come out from his rear." Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: "And they will be given boiling water to drink, which will cut their intestines to pieces" [Surah Muhammad: 15], and Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: "And if they call for relief, they will be relieved with water like the dregs of oil, which scalds the faces. What a wretched drink!" [Surah al-Kahf: 29].
