حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، وسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ قَالَ: «عَجِبْتُ مِنْ قَضَاءِ اللهِ لِلْمُسْلِمِ كُلُّهُ خَيْرٌ إِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ سَرَّاءُ، فَشَكَرَ آجَرَهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ ضَرَّاءُ فَصَبَرَ آجَرَهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ» زَادَ فِيهِ حَمَّادٌ: «وَكُلُّ قَضَاءٍ قَضَاهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِلْمُسْلِمِ خَيْرٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Suhayb (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I marvel at Allah's decree for the Muslim: all of it is good for him. If something pleasing befalls him, he gives thanks, and Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, rewards him; and if hardship befalls him, he is patient, and Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, rewards him." Hammad (may Allah have mercy on him) added in it: "And every decree that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, decrees for the Muslim is good."
