Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 724 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ established

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) established brotherhood between the Muhajirun and the Ansar. He established brotherhood between Sayyiduna Sa'd bin al-Rabi' and Sayyiduna Abdur-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with them both). Sa'd said to him: I have wealth; it is to be divided in half between me and you. And I have two wives; see which of them you like, and I will divorce her, and when her waiting period (iddah) is complete, you may marry her. Abdur-Rahman said: I have no need of your wealth or your family; show me the way to the market. So he went and came back with dates and cheese (aqit) which he had earned as profit. Then he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a trace of yellow (perfume) on him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is the matter?" He said: I have married a woman from the Ansar. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "How much dowry (mahr) did you give her?" He said: Gold equal to the weight of a date stone, or a date stone of gold. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give a wedding feast (walimah), even if it is with just one sheep."
