وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ: " بَنُو غِفَارٍ وَأَسْلَمُ كَانُوا كَكَثِيرٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ فِتْنَةً، يَقُولُونَ: لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مَا جَعَلَهُمُ اللهُ أَوَّلَ النَّاسِ فِيهِ، وَإِنَّهَا غِفَارٌ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَهَا، وَأَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللهُ "
Through the same chain, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "The tribes of Banu Ghifar and Aslam were a source of trial for many people; they would say: 'If this (Islam) were good, Allah would not have made them the first of people in it.' Yet Ghifar is the one whom Allah has forgiven, and Aslam is the one to whom Allah has granted safety."
