حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا دُحَيْمٌ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي خُبَيْبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: «أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نُحَافِظَ عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ كُلِّهَا، وَأَوْصَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى، وَنَبَّأَنَا أَنَّهَا صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ»
Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to guard all the prayers, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave special instruction regarding the middle prayer, and told us that it is the Asr prayer.
