Ismail bin Muslim al-Makki from al-Hasan from Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6917 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Fever

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْحُمَّى قِطْعَةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ، فَأَبْرِدُوهَا عَنْكُمْ بِالْمَاءِ الْبَارِدِ»
«وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِذَا حُمَّ دَعَا بِقِرْبَةٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ، فَأَفْرَغَهَا عَلَى قَرْنِهِ، فَاغْتَسَلَ»
«وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِذَا حُمَّ دَعَا بِقِرْبَةٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ، فَأَفْرَغَهَا عَلَى قَرْنِهِ، فَاغْتَسَلَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fever is a piece of Hellfire, so cool it with cold water."
And when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had a fever, he would call for a waterskin of water, pour it over his head, and take a bath.
