حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ، ثنا وَكِيعٌ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، قَالَ: «كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى عَنِ الْمُثْلَةِ، وَيَحُثُّ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ»
Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to forbid mutilation (muthlah, cutting the limbs of a body) and used to urge (people) to give charity.
