Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6901 — the Prophet ﷺ said: Every newborn is held

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، عَنْ مَطَرٍ الْوَرَّاقِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ: «كُلُّ مَوْلُودٍ مُرْتَهَنٌ بِعَقِيقَتِهِ، يُذْبَحُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ سَابِعِهِ، وَيُسَمَّى , وَيُحْلَقُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every newborn is held in pledge for his aqiqah; (an animal) is to be slaughtered on his behalf on the seventh day, he is to be given a name, and his head is to be shaved."
