Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6899 — the Prophet ﷺ forbade going out to meet

حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ، ثنا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ مَطَرٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ: «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ تَلَقِّي الْجَلَبِ حَتَّى تَبْلُغَ السُّوقَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade going out to meet (trade) caravans on the way before they reach the market.
