Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6873 — The battle cry (the call of recognition)

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الرَّقِّيُّ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: «كَانَ شِعَارُ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ عَبْدَ اللهِ، وَشِعَارُ الْأَنْصَارِ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ»
Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The battle cry (the call of recognition in war) of the Muhajirun was "Abdullah", and the battle cry of the Ansar was "Abd al-Rahman".
