Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6793 — the Prophet of Allah ﷺ ordered us

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَمْزَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْجُمَاهِرِ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ: «أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُحَافِظَ عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى، وَأَنْبَأَنَا أَنَّهَا صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to guard all the prayers and the middle prayer, and informed us that it is the Asr prayer.
