حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّوْفَلِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مَوْدُودٍ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ السَّائِبَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ، يَقُولُ: لَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ مِنْ غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ خَرَجَ النَّاسُ يَتَلَقَّوْنَهُ، فَخَرَجَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ، قَالَ السَّائِبُ: فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ تَلَقَّاهُ مَعَ الصِّبْيَانِ، حَتَّى «لَقِينَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ»
Sayyiduna al-Sa'ib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Madinah from the Battle of Tabuk, the people went out to receive him (peace and blessings be upon him), and the women and children went out as well. Al-Sa'ib (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I was among the children who went out to receive him (peace and blessings be upon him), until we met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at Thaniyyat al-Wada'.
