It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Sa'ib bin Khallad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibril (peace be upon him) came to me and said: Command your companions to raise their voices in the talbiyah of ihram, for it is one of the rites of Hajj."
Sufyan bin Uyaynah said: Ibn Jurayj had concealed a hadith from me, so when Abdullah bin Abi Bakr came to us, I did not tell Ibn Jurayj (this hadith). Then, when he (Abdullah) set out for Madinah, I narrated this hadith to Ibn Jurayj, and Ibn Jurayj said to me: "O one-eyed one! You hide hadiths from us, and then when their narrators have gone, you tell us about them. I will not narrate this hadith from you." So Ibn Jurayj wrote to Abdullah bin Abi Bakr, and Abdullah bin Abi Bakr wrote this hadith to him, and Ibn Jurayj used to narrate it in his books in this way: "Abdullah bin Abi Bakr wrote to me."
