Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6039 — Salman passed by him while he was

Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by him while he was stationed guarding the frontier in the land of Persia. Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Shall I not tell you something that will be a help to you in this guarding of yours? He said: Certainly. Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Guarding the frontier for one day in the path of Allah is better than fasting a month and standing in prayer during it."
