Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that a suit of striped garments (anmar) of black wool was woven for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), with two tassels of white wool attached to it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to the gathering wearing it, struck his thigh and said: "Do you not see how beautiful this suit is?" A Bedouin said: O Messenger of Allah, clothe me with this suit! It was the way of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that whenever he was asked for anything, he would never say "No." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Very well." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) called for two knotted garments and put them on, gave the suit to the Bedouin, and ordered that another one like it be woven for him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away while it was still being woven.
