Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 5897 — Abu Hazim relates: I asked Sayyiduna Sahl

Abu Hazim relates: I asked Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him): What was the wound of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) treated with on the day of Uhud? He said: "There is no one left on the face of the earth who knows more about it than I do. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was bringing water in his shield, and Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) was washing the blood; then a reed mat was burned, and the wound was packed with it."
