Sa'id bin Uthman al-Balawi narrates from his grandmother, bint Adi, that her mother Amirah bint Sahl - (daughter of) Sahl, the man of the two sa's (may Allah be pleased with him), whom the hypocrites had taunted - told her that he went out with his zakah in the form of one sa' of dates, and took his daughter Amirah along too, until he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and poured out the dates. Then he said: O Messenger of Allah, I have a request of you. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is it?" He said: That you supplicate to Allah for blessing for me and for this daughter, and pass your hand over her head, for I have no child other than her. Amirah says: So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand upon me, and by Allah, it is as though the coolness of the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is still felt upon my liver (heart) today.
