It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Yarbu' (may Allah be pleased with him), who was also called al-Sarm, that on the day of the Conquest of Makkah the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are four men to whom I will give no safety, neither in the Haram nor in the Hill (outside the Haram): al-Huwayrith bin Nufayl, Maqis bin Dubabah, Hilal bin Khatal and Abdullah bin Sa'd bin Abi Sarh." So al-Huwayrith was killed by Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him); Maqis bin Dubabah was killed by a cousin of his on account of a quarrel; Hilal bin Khatal was killed by Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him); and for Abdullah bin Sa'd bin Abi Sarh, Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) sought safety, because he was his foster brother. Maqis had two slave-girls who used to sing satire against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); one of them was killed, and the other escaped and then accepted Islam.
