حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ: " فِي تَسْمِيَةِ مَنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي سَوَّادِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، وَاسْمُ كَعْبٍ ظُفَرُ: سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ "
Urwah said that among the Ansar who took part in Badr, then from Banu Sawwad bin Ka'b (Ka'b's name was Zafar), is the name of Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Ubayd bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him).
