حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ الْعَلَّافُ، ثنا مُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هَارُونَ الْعَبْدِيِّ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ مُمْعَطُ اللِّحْيَةِ، فَقُلْتُ: تَعْبَثُ بِلِحْيَتِكَ، فَقَالَ: «لَا، هَذَا مَا لَقِيتُ مِنْ ظَلَمَةِ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ، دَخَلُوا عَلَيَّ زَمَنَ الْحَرَّةِ، فَأَخَذُوا مَا كَانَ فِي الْبَيْتِ مِنْ مَتَاعٍ أَوْ حَرًى، ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ عَلَيَّ طَائِفَةٌ أُخْرَى، فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا فِي الْبَيْتِ شَيْئًا، فَأَسِفُوا أَنْ يَخْرُجُوا بِغَيْرِ شَيْءٍ» ، فَقَالَ: «أَضْجِعُوا الشَّيْخَ، فَأَضْجَعُونِي، فَجَعَلَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ يَأْخُذُ مِنْ لِحْيَتِي خُصْلَةً»
Abu Harun al-Abdi said: I saw Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) with the hairs of his beard plucked out, so I asked: Do you play with your beard? He said: "No, this is what I suffered at the hands of the oppressors among the people of Syria. They burst into my house at the time of (the event of) al-Harrah and took whatever goods or valuables were in the house. Then another group came to me and found nothing in the house, and they were upset at leaving empty-handed." Then (one of them) said: "Lay the old man down." So they laid me down, and each one of them began pulling a lock out of my beard.
