سعد بن عبادة الأنصاري ثم الخزرجي عقبي بدري أحدي نقيب، يكنى أبا ثابت، نزل بالشام وتوفي بها
Sad bin Ubadah al-Ansari, then al-Khazraji (may Allah be pleased with him), a veteran of Aqabah, Badr and Uhud, a naqib; his kunyah was Abu Thabit; he settled in Syria and died there

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ هَارُونَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْمُسَيِّبِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بنُ فُلَيْحٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ: «فِي تَسْمِيَةِ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْعَقَبَةَ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي سَاعِدَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، وَهُوَ نَقِيبٌ»
Ibn Shihab relates that among the Ansar who took part in the Pledge of Aqabah, and then from Banu Sa'idah bin Ka'b, is the name of Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him); he was a naqib (leader).
