حَدَّثَنَا حُذَافِيُّ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ الْمُسْتَنِيرِ بْنِ الْمُسَاوِرِ بْنِ حُذَافِيِّ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ عِيَاضِ بْنِ مُحْرَقٍ الْعَمِّيِّ اللَّخْمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ الْمُسْتَنِيرِ، عَنْ خَالِهِ أَخِي أُمِّهِ وَهُوَ خَالِدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّهِ زِيَادِ بْنِ جَهْوَرٍ قَالَ: وَرَدَ عَلَيَّ كِتَابٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهِ: «بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللهِ إِلَى زِيَادِ بْنِ جَهْوَرٍ سَلِّمْ أَنْتَ فَإِنِّي أَحْمَدُ إِلَيْكَ اللهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ، أَمَا بَعْدُ فَإِنِّي أُذَكِّرُكَ اللهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ. أَمَا بَعْدُ فَلْيُوضَعَنَّ كُلُّ دِينٍ دَانَ بِهِ النَّاسُ إِلَّا الْإِسْلَامَ فَاعْلَمْ ذَلِكُ»
Sayyiduna Ziyad bin Jahwar (may Allah be pleased with him) says: A letter from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me, in which was written: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. From Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, to Ziyad bin Jahwar. Peace be upon you; I praise before you Allah, besides whom there is no god. To proceed: I remind you of Allah and the Last Day. To proceed: every religion that people follow, other than Islam, will be abolished, so know this."
