Abdullah bin al-Harith narrates: We said to Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him): "Tell us something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." So he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to make this supplication: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, cowardice, miserliness, old age, the punishment of the grave and the trial of the Dajjal. O Allah, grant my soul its piety, and You are the best of those who purify it; You are its Guardian and its Master. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from a heart that does not humble itself, from knowledge that does not benefit, and from a supplication that is not heard" - or he said: "that is not answered."
