حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ حَمْدَانَ الْحَنَفِيُّ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ كَرَامَةَ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا حَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ: «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، اللهُمَّ آتِ نَفْسِي تَقْوَاهَا أَنْتَ خَيْرُ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا أَنْتَ وَلِيُّهَا وَمَوْلَاهَا، اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ وَنَفَسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ وَصَلَاةٍ لَا تَنْفَعُ وَدَعْوَةٍ لَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to make this supplication: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, cowardice, miserliness, old age and the punishment of the grave. O Allah, grant my soul its piety, and You are the best of those who purify it; You are its Guardian and its Master. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a heart that does not humble itself, from a soul that is never satisfied, from a prayer that does not benefit, and from a supplication that is not answered."
