Zirr bin Hubaysh said: The people of Madinah went out to a gathering of theirs, and I saw a bald man who worked with both hands equally, standing out above the people by a forearm's length. He was wearing a coarse waist-wrapper and a striped cloak, and he was saying: "O people, emigrate (make hijrah), and do not (merely) make a show of emigration. And let none of you strike a rabbit with his stick or a stone and then eat it (without slaughtering it); rather, slaughter it with an arrow, a spear or a lance." I asked: Who is this? The people said: This is Umar bin al-Khattab.
