حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ قَالَا: ثنا اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ مَوْلَى، بَنِي مَغَالَةَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، وَأَبَا طَلْحَةَ بْنَ سَهْلٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّيْنِ يَقُولَانِ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا مِنَ امْرِئٍ يَخْذُلُ مُسْلِمًا فِي مَوْطِنٍ يُنْتَقَصُ فِيهِ مِنْ عِرْضِهِ وَيُنْتَهَكُ فِيهِ مِنْ حُرْمَتِهِ إِلَّا خَذَلَهُ اللهُ فِي مَوْطِنٍ يُحِبُّ فِيهِ نُصْرَتَهُ وَمَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَنْصُرُ مُسْلِمًا فِي مَوْطِنٍ يُنْتَقَصُ فِيهِ مِنْ عِرْضِهِ وَيُنْتَهَكُ فِيهِ مِنْ حُرْمَتِهِ إِلَّا نَصَرَهُ اللهُ فِي مَوْطِنٍ يُحِبُّ فِيهِ نُصْرَتَهُ»
Isma'il bin Bashir, the freed slave of Banu Maghalah, narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah and Sayyiduna Abu Talhah bin Sahl al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any person who abandons a Muslim at a time when his honour is being attacked and his sanctity is being violated, Allah will abandon him at a time when he wants Allah's help. And any person who helps a Muslim at a time when his honour is being attacked and his sanctity is being violated, Allah will help him at a time when he wants Allah's help."
