It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Rasim (may Allah be pleased with him), who was from the people of Hajar and was a jurist, that he went with a delegation to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) bringing charity, and presented the charity to him (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade them from making nabidh in those (particular) vessels. They returned to their land, which was the hot land of Tihamah, and they fell ill there. Then, the following year, they came back to him (peace and blessings be upon him) with their charities and said: O Messenger of Allah, you forbade us (from making nabidh in) these vessels, so we abandoned them, and that was hard on us. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go and drink whatever you wish, but do not drink that whose waterskin has been kept tied up (so long) that it has turned sinful (intoxicating)."
