حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدًا كَانَ بَيْنَ بَنِي سَعِيدٍ، فَأَعْتَقُوهُ إِلَّا وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمْ، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسْتَشْفَعُ بِهِ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ، وَكَلَّمَهُ فِيهِ، فَوَهَبَ الرَّجُلُ نَصِيبَهُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، «فَأَعْتَقَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ» وَكَانَ يَقُولُ: أَنَا مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَانَ اسْمُهُ رَافِعًا أَبَا الْبَهِيِّ
Muhammad bin Amr bin Sa'id (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that a slave was jointly owned among Banu Sa'id, and they freed him except for one man among them. So he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would intercede (on his behalf) with that man, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke to him. The man then gifted his share to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set him free. He used to say: I am the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). His name was Rafi' Abu al-Bahi.
