It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khubayb (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out intending an expedition, so I and a man from my people came and said: "We dislike that our people should take part in a battle in which we do not take part with them." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Have you become Muslims?" We said: "No." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We do not seek help from the polytheists." The narrator said: So we became Muslims and took part (in that battle) with him. A man from the polytheists struck me on my shoulder, and I killed him, and afterwards I married his daughter. She used to say: "May you never be deprived of the man who adorned you with this sash (meaning the scar of the wound)." And I would say to her: "May you never be deprived of the man who hastened your father to Hell."
