خوط بن عبد العزى ويقال حوط
Khawt bin Abd al-Uzza (may Allah be pleased with him), also said to be Hawt
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 4175 — A caravan of the tribe of Mudar passed
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ خَوْطِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَنِي أَنَّ رُفْقَةً مَرَّتْ مِنْ مُضَرَ وَفِيهَا جَرَسٌ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تَقْرُبُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ رُفْقَةً فِيهَا جَرَسٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khawt bin Abd al-Uzza (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: A caravan of the tribe of Mudar passed by with a bell in it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angels do not come near a caravan in which there is a bell."
