Al-Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man from among us called Kharijah bin Zayd died, and we covered him with a cloth. I stood up to pray, and then I heard a commotion, so I turned away (from the prayer), and I saw that he was moving. He said: "The strongest of the people is the middle one of them, Abdullah. Umar, the Commander of the Believers, is strong in his body and strong in the affair of Allah. Uthman bin Affan, the Commander of the Believers, is chaste and abstinent, and he will pardon many sins. Two nights have passed and four remain, and the people have fallen into disagreement and there is no order among them. O people! Turn to your Imam, listen to him and obey. This is the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and Ibn Rawahah (present)." Then he said: "What became of Zayd bin Kharijah?" meaning his father. Then he said: "I took something unjustly." Then his voice faded.
