Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 3985 — One day the people mentioned the vessels

Abu Ishaq, the freed slave of Banu Hashim (may Allah have mercy on him), narrates: One day the people mentioned the vessels in which nabidh is prepared, and they disputed about the gourd vessel. Then Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by them, so they sent a man to him, and Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbid preparing nabidh in any pitch-coated (tarred) vessel. He said nothing more than that.
