حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، وَخُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، وَأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالُوا: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ هَذَا الطَّاعُونَ رِجْزٌ وَبَقِيَّةُ عَذَابٍ عُذِّبَ بِهِ قَوْمٌ، فَإِذَا وَقَعَ بِأَرْضٍ وَأَنْتُمْ بِهَا فَلَا تَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا، وَإِذَا وَقَعَ بِهَا وَلَسْتُمْ بِهَا فَلَا تَدْخُلُوهَا»
Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Malik, Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit and Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This plague is a punishment and a remnant of the chastisement with which a people were punished. So when it breaks out in a land and you are in it, do not leave it; and when it breaks out in a land and you are not in it, do not enter it."
