Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 3653 — Had I not heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ مُضَرِّبٍ، عَنْ خَبَّابٍ، قَالَ: لَوْلَا أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لَا يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ لَتَمَنَّيْتُهُ»
Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Had I not heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "None of you should wish for death," I would have wished for it.
